Observations Day 16
3:8 Those of this sign always manage to
find someone who will keep them safe surrounded by the
trappings of a home. They admire the straight-talking
tough who is master of his or her fate, but will find it
hard to actually connect with people like this. The
attractive helplessness and fragility that they readily
protray attracts the gentleman carer, the tender
organiser, those who are themselves weakened in key areas
of their will and can be manipulated. That their persona
is an act of misdirection is not often noticed. The Major
3, resolving to 5, gives them practical ambitions, a lust
for status and the energy to get what they want. They are
somewhat at odds with destiny, never relaxed. But those
who are not easily manipulated by the tricks are happy to
remain friends.
Marylin had
based her act on her child-like innocence and drawn it
out into an art form. She didn't play the dumb blonde so
much as the other-worldly blonde. She was the Joan-of-Arc
of blondes, the essence of untouched pure youth. As she
aged, her act had no where to go. There is something
grotesque about a matron playing an innocent, and Marylin
knew it. Her singing career had never taken off, and the
studio system was never going to allow her to play the
new roles that she (as a Minor 8 resolving to 2) would
want. She had not found the home life she had wanted and
she had never received the social standing she really
needed, and which she might have thought that playing
around with politicians would have boosted. She died in
the centre of a community that had been manipulated
enough not to want her.

 Major 3: Minor 8
Day Both the Major 2 and the Minor
6 lie on the same axis, giving those of this day
a strong sense of identity and unity. As a
result, Day Fourteens can be an attractive and
magnetic draw on others. They easily see people
as a resource to be stored and used, as any
physical or intellectual resource is used. They
are keen to stand out from their peers, but also
to weave the desires of those around them into a
secret purpose. They may even feel they are
representatives of a higher form of social
organisation in which duty and obligations figure
more strongly than freedoms. Day Fourteens have a
strong belief in themselves and their abilities
to manage resources and people to whatever end
they set themselves. They can enter relationships
easily and enjoy the emotional rough-and-tumble
of the first contacts. But their
idiosyncratic sense of pride may make their
relationships unstable. They feel that their
sense of honour is undermined by their need to
remain in touch with their network of favour and
obligation. They like to classify their
experiences and acquire information in depth, but
they also need to put a personal stamp on any
form of communication in order to keep themselves
untainted by the ordinary. They are good at
handling all the intellectual tools of
calculation and may have stamina and
perserverance for lengthy analysis. They are
unlikely to be shifted in their viewpoints,
believing that their opinion is like a moral
fixture in creation. They feel distracted
both by the new and by the common ground, and
think that events are best steered by a small
elite who have allegiance to ideals. Those
of this sign may be political theorists and
activists who believe passionately in a cause,
and they can also be good scholars and
administrators, though a little too sensual for a
life of the mind. They may readily reject the
baggage of ideas that were given to them during
their upbringing, but still cling to the idea of
a 'family' with its independent agenda of action.
They like to make deals and create business
opportunities, and they enjoy the material proof
of their achievements, but they can be
over-indulgent at times at the expense of their
projects. They will be always willing to
re-establish contact after a break with friends,
but they are unlikely to be the ones to make the
first overtures.
