1. Readings from the Theory of Eight - the new astrology of the 21st century

For December 2001 - January 2002, It won’t be a surprise that the key period for everyone will be from around 9:00 pm December 18 to around 5:30am December 24. This period is governed by 7:3 where the impetus to get all those unfulfilled dreams sorted out is very strong. The eight Majors react to this influence in different ways.

For Sevens (born 28 November - 12 January) this is their time. They will be tempted by unexpected offers that can take them somewhere different - and better - than the old path, and they may happily confound expectations without worrying their consciences. Their recklessness has somewhere to go, somewhere to be. This time, talk has real consequences and will relieve them of a current anxiety. On the same axis of energy as 7, Threes (born 29 May - 14 July) are going to find much to do in furthering their own interests. They may be sorely tempted by new work that comes up, but if they can be brought down to earth, they can make a family outing the best of times. They will be clever with their presents, and happy to try anything new to appeal to the youngsters.

On the Landscape axis - Ones (born 26 February - 12 April) will see this time as governed by past history, especially past successes. They may want to re-live or in some way express to the nearest like minds past events in which they starred. They may mar their performance by trying to add one or two personal diversions to an otherwise naturally unfolding plot. Whereas Fives (born 30 August - 15 October) will be concentrating on consolidating their rewards so far and re-positioning their plaques of good service and achievement. While their basic wish is to see the prominent levelled and all conduct harmonious, the New Year’s honours list is essential reading.

On the axis of mind - Twos (born 12 April - 29 May) and especially those in their Resolutions (to 4), will be more likely to want to lend a hand or participate in the rituals. They don’t want to play games with the set-up, and they certainly don’t want to be exposed to any kind of test of sincerity. At home, they’ll organise now for a piece of the profit later. And Sixes (born 15 October - 28 November), for whom the developing fun will never quite fulfil its promise, there is an added twist to the common meals. Can they give up their share of the abundance for increased notoriety? They will be sorry to stand apart, but they may feel it forced upon them.

On the axis of creation - Fours (born 14 July - 30 August), and especially those in their Resolutions (to 6), are going to want to hide feelings of embarrassment at not being able to give as much as they would like. They will feel almost overcome by the fairground atmosphere of deception, but cannot quit. Their own taste is so very different. But Eights (born 12 January - 26 February) are going to be happy in the revels as long as there is no compulsion about anything, and that if a fresh idea strikes they can run with it. Going away would be the best of all, though. Otherwise, they are going to be frustrated and angry with whatever happens at home and this may make them ill.
