Personality snapshot for TO8 Day 23 under the Major 4

Day Twenty-threes and Day Thirty-ones have the Major 4, governing spirituality and fertility, and the Minor 7, govering destiny and opportunity, with the tensions of independence and achievement in 6. The trend is also towards 6, governing independence and achievement, with the insecurities of expression and motivation in 3, and with the prevailing mood of physical and intellectual exploration in 1.

Day Twenty-threes and Day Thirty-ones have a powerful sense of humour and a keen sense of the ridiculous. They have charming and seductive exteriors that hide an uncertainty about the truth of anything. But yet they have a lot of faith there is a truth out there somewhere that they will discover. Their imaginations keep them busy and they are capable of surprising intellectual shifts, coming up with the most inventive ideas - even creating the symbols needed to describe them. They believe that the universe will be good to them, yet they are shy about getting their personal desires met, feeling that others don't allow them to fit in anywhere in the normal scheme of things. They avoid what they suspect are duties imposed from above, and will get angry if they feel they've been manoevered into something. They are emotionally energetic and are keen to latch onto new projects even though they may end up, repeatedly, in crises of doubt. They need to express their deep questions about life, and can weld chance occurences together into powerful metaphors for life. While they feel that current events have an irresistible force, they despair that anything will ever change. They fell 'out of sync' with everyone else, at the same as seeing further down the line than others. They are concerned with social issues and how to do the right thing, while their everyday self presents an attractive and exploratory personality to those around them. They take risks because there's much they know that they cannot explicitly state. Their fertile imaginations are inspiring, though their dreams and fantasies can get mixed up in their day-to-day life and they are a little bit of loose canon intellectually (which is not to say that they are not fundamentally right about everything they do) because they have difficulties saying what they mean. Underneath, however, they are trying to steer their drift towards conscious control of their work. They have a certain intellectual jealousy of those ideas that make it out onto the Landscape, and try to reduce any ideas that are not their own into games. They worry that they will not deserve their accolades, and feel guilty or indifferent for every good thing that happens to them. They may cast caution to the winds at the most inappropriate time, and force destiny to play its hand. They feel that nothing about social interaction is important, and in the long run all will be destroyed. They are amused by crowds, but would not like to be considered a member of one unless the crowd was up to something noble. They like both the anarchy and the occasional purposefulness of a crowd, but always like to know where their exits are well in advance. They swing from pride to humility and back again, and their instincts for caution are often overwhelmed by the powerful urge to confess all and cleanse themselves of guilt. Their sexuality is tinged with mystery and ritual but, for them, human relationships carry the stamp of sameness to them, and they are fatalistic about the new ones they enter. Children will arrive to explain the mystery of sex, and those of this Day will be excited about parenthood, if impractical in its day-to-day requirements.

They resolve towards 6:1. In the second half of their life, they will discipline their own ideas, and become more interested in exploring the new worlds of information and innovation. They are impatient for their own children to grow up and they may get distracted from their original conceptions by new options.  They understand young people and their quests, but find it difficult to let them make their own mistakes. They get better at delegating the donkey work of making their projects happen, but still they may tinker with their luck a little too much and end up with incomplete successes.
